One step at a time
Let’s make it
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg, and 2 tablespoons melted butter.
- Stir wet ingredients into dry just until combined; batter may be lumpy.
- Heat a 10-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add remaining 1 tablespoon butter, then diced apple tossed with lemon juice; sauté 3 minutes until slightly softened.
- Pour about 1/4 cup batter per pancake onto skillet, sprinkle some sautéed apple pieces on each, cook until bubbles form and edges set, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip carefully and cook another 2 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Serve warm with syrup or additional sautéed apples.
A little kitchen know-how
Use medium heat on the skillet to cook pancakes evenly without burning the outsides.
