One step at a time
Let’s make it
- Cook fettuccine according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low; slowly whisk in heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Add grated Parmesan cheese and black pepper, stirring until cheese melts and sauce thickens slightly.
- Add cooked pasta to skillet and toss to coat; add reserved pasta water as needed to loosen sauce.
- Season with salt to taste and stir in chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately garnished with additional parsley.
A little kitchen know-how
Reserve some pasta cooking water to thin the sauce to your desired consistency if it becomes too thick.
Storage & leftovers
Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stove over low heat with a splash of milk or water to loosen sauce.
