Let’s make it

  1. Mix tuna, mayonnaise, celery, mustard, and lemon juice.
  2. Divide tuna salad among four bread slices. Add cheddar and top with remaining bread.
  3. Spread butter thinly on the outside of each sandwich.
  4. Cook in a skillet over medium-low heat for 3–5 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden, cheese melts, and filling is hot. Work in batches.

A little kitchen know-how

Drain the tuna very well so the filling does not soak through the bread.

Storage & leftovers

Refrigerate filling within 2 hours and use within 3 days. Assemble sandwiches shortly before cooking.
